Covid has affected our community in unprecedented ways. We need to meet the challenge by coming together and providing unprecedented support for those who are struggling the most. This list of resources will be continuously updated with immediate relief and other resources available in the Philly Area and beyond. If you have a resource you think would be good to add, please contact me.

IMMEDIATE RELIEF

FOOD

FeedTheQueens.com (US)

Feed The Queens is providing food grants of $400 to queens across the country who perform in front of live audiences and have been affected by COVID-19-related work losses. Presented by Shangela and The Actors Fund, and backed by HBO.

*Application form is currently unavailable. They are raising another round of funds to open the application back up.*

Philabundance (Philly Area)

CHOSEN 300 MINISTRIES (Philly Area)

Provides food services for those in need. Check the link for the full list of of times and locations.

The 1116 Spring Garden Street location serves Mon, Wed, Fri at 6PM and Sat at 5PM

HOUSING

Philadelphia’s Eviction Diversion Program (Philly)

At least through the end of 2020, landlords must go to mediation with tenants who have trouble paying rent due to Covid related hardships before filling for eviction. The mediation is meant to provide a win-win for all parties involved and keep people in their homes. 

*As of 12/4/20: Over the last two months, 237 mediations occurred, according to the city. Of those, 182 reached agreements, avoiding eviction filings. In 42 cases, participants agreed to keep negotiating. Thirteen didn’t reach agreements. Another roughly 220 mediations have been scheduled.*

Philadelphia Rental Assistance Program (Philly)

3/24/21: Philadelphia is getting ready to open up Phase 4 of funding for the Pennsylvania Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP). Applications are expected to open up at the end of March.
